Ray Arno – Chairman
Board Member since 1965
Pastor Ray Arno is the Founder and General Director of Alaska Village Missions.  After studying the Bible at Saint Paul Bible Institute, he and his wife moved to Alaska, and began their life-long calling to ministry.  Ray is a licensed pilot with plenty of Alaskan “bush” experience.

Tami Reiser – Treasurer
Board Member since 2000
Tami has been involved with AVM and ABI since 1989.  Working as the bookkeeper at ABI, she is blessed and encouraged by the students and staff that are seeking God’s will in their lives.  She also sees a need and hunger for the Lord in the native villages of Alaska, and is blessed to participate in, and witness, the work of the Lord in these remote places.  Tami is a graduate of ABI and has also studied at the University of Alaska and Southeastern Bible College.

Dave Becker
Board Member Since 1974
Dave is the Director of the Radio ministry at Alaska Village Missions.  He has a degree in Electronic Engineering and has studied at The University of California and California Polytechnic University.  Dave has a vision to expand and develop the 24/7 radio ministry of AVM.  It is also a joy for him to be a part of ABI and see the life changing experience it is to the student body.  Dave is licensed by the FCC and is the owner and general manager of four AM and FM stations in the area of south-central Alaska.

Mike Arno
Board Member Since 2001
Mike has served on the board of AVM for over ten years, and he is a lifetime resident of Alaska.  As the son of our founder, Mike has been involved in our ministry since childhood.  Mike strongly believes in Alaska Bible Institute and the Biblical foundation and training that it offers its students.  As a business man, Mike has owned and operated several local Homer area businesses.

Galen Gordon
Board Member since 1968
Galen is a long time Homer resident.  He attended school at Pasadena Collage and also served his country in the US Army.  Galen and his wife Arlene have faithfully served Alaska Village Missions many years in the areas of dorm parenting, construction and maintenance.  Galen serves on the board because he wants to be faithful to God’s Calling.

Pam Nustvold – Secretary
Board Member since 2010
Pam and her husband graduated from Alaska Bible Institute in 1982.  She enjoys being a board member because she can be a part of the impact Alaska village Missions is making on the body of Christ and for his Kingdom.  Pam is an administrator for Homer Electric and also serves her local church.
